Having grown up with the Winter Hill Gang, the author of the book Citizen Somerville shares new stories, from the group's origins in the 60s through the bloody Irish gang wars and to its demise in the late 70s. Over sixty men were murdered, including the leader of the gang, James "Buddy" McLean. Events depicted in Citizen Somerville offer a true picture of an era in Boston's history before Whitey Bulger's reign.
